As we have discussed in recent sessions, I will be out of the office for a maternity leave between the approximate dates of April 1, 2023 to August 1, 2023. During this timeframe, I will be entirely unavailable for therapy sessions, consultations, crisis management, and making referrals. I will not be responding to phone calls, emails, or text messages. While I am away, you will have several options. You may decide to take a break from therapy. You may also continue therapy with another clinician.

If you’d like to see another therapist in my absence, please begin exploring some of the resources below. These therapists have agreed to assist with coverage of my caseload during my absence. I recommend connecting early as waitlists are common. You may also find other therapists that fit your needs at www.psychologytoday.com or www.therapyden.com.

Please note you will be receiving a release of information to allow my colleague Shannon Gonter, LPCC to access *only your contact information* (no clinical information) in the event I become unexpectedly unavailable for a scheduled session prior to my leave date of April 1, 2023.

Plan for return

I will reach out directly via phone or email as we near the end of this leave to assess your need for return to services with me and to coordinate scheduling. It is entirely normal that in one therapist’s absence you would form a strong alliance with a covering therapist. You may wish to continue services with someone else even upon my return. If this is the case, I will be happy to close your file with my practice at that time.
